2019 Peoria Academy Fall Scholastic

When: Saturday, October 26th 2019
What: This tournament is 4 round officially rated United States Chess Federation (USCF) Swiss System Scholastic event for individuals. Players divided in two approximately even sections by rating for pairing and prize purposes. All players play all rounds. This will be our 17th annual youth chess tournament.
Who: Eligibility Pre-K through High School.
Entry Fee: $15 per player (payable at site, check or cash). USCF membership required and can be purchased at site. Advance Entry requested (but not required), e-mail murrel@gmail.com. You may still pay at the door, we would just like to get an idea of how many players to expect. Check-in from 8 to 9am. No new entries and no substitutions allowed on Saturday morning after 9am. This allows time for first round pairings. First round will start at 9:30am. Other rounds and awards ASAP.
Schedule: Rd 1 9:30 Rds 2-4 ASAP, Awards ASAP Time Control: Game 45 minutes, 5 second delay
Prizes: Individual trophies. Trophies to the top 10 individuals in each section. Upset trophy for each section (100 points or more). You must have a score of at least ½ point to get a trophy. We use 5 tiebreakers: Solkoff, Modified Median, Sonneborn-Berger, Performance of Opposition, and Average Opposition.
Extra: Depending on how quickly the rounds are conducted, a half-hour lunch break may be taken sometime between 11am and 1pm. Pizza and juice will be available.
Directions to Peoria Academy: From I-74 take War Memorial Drive Exit (89) North to Allen Road. Turn Right onto Allen Road and Take Allen Road up the hill to W Willow Knolls. Turn Left on W Willow Knolls and quickly Turn Right just past the Car Dealership. You are in the Peoria Academy parking area and the Chess Tournament is in the East Building, the smaller building on your right.
