When: Saturday Jan 31st, 2015
Where: East Peoria Central Junior High 601 Taylor St. East Peoria, IL 61611
Cost: $5.00 per person - max. $100 per team
Schedule: Check in 8:00 - 8:30 a.m. First round starts 9:00 a.m. Swiss style tournament will consist of 4 rounds. Separate tournaments will be run for 6th, 7th and 8th grades with each student playing only students from their grade. Awards will be presented to the top finishers in each level. All players are required to record their games.
What you need to bring:
- A chess board and pieces (at least 1 for every 2 players)
- Chess clock (if available, 1 for every 2 players) set at 30 minutes with a 5 second delay
- Notation sheets and writing instrument
- Money or food for lunch and snacks (Concession stand will be available for breakfast and lunch)
- Items for entertainment and relaxation (Books, games, music, cards)
