This tournament is an official United States Chess Federation(USCF) Swiss System Scholastic event for individuals in four sections. We will use 5 tiebreakers: Solkoff, Modified Median, Sonneborn-Berger, Performance of Opposition, and Average Opposition. Sections will be divided by rating, based on distribution as determined after registration. The Second Sweetest Scholastic Ever!

Prizes: Edible Prizes donated by [www.hersheys.com Hersheys Chocolate]. Each section will also receive Trophies for the top 3 places. Lakeview Museum will also be having a special pass at the door for Museum activities.

This tournament is an official United States Chess Federation(USCF) Swiss System Scholastic event for individuals in four sections. We will use 5 tiebreakers: Solkoff, Modified Median, Sonneborn-Berger, Performance of Opposition, and Average Opposition. Sections will be divided by rating, based on distribution as determined after registration.

Check-in: From 8 to 9am. Final registration with deletions due before 9am. No new entries and no substitutions allowed on Saturday morning after 8:45am. This allows time for first round pairings. As players arrive they should check in with their supervisors. First round will start at 9:30am. Third round will start at 12:30pm. Other rounds and awards ASAP.

Entry Deadline: Wednesday night, Feb 27, 8pm.

Time Control: Game 30

Entry Fee: $10 per player (payable at site, check or cash ok ). USCF membership required and can be purchased at site. Note for Non USCF members: Thanks to the GPCF you can still play in this event for $10. The GPCF will pay a one tournament USCF membership (value $7) for them. We will need Name,Address, and Birthdate. When entering in advance please note that you are not currently a USCF member. (If you have been a member before please let us know.) Note: You must show proof of USCF membership at each tournament. Your USCF CARD or MAGAZINE LABEL or ORIGINAL RECEIPT are all acceptable forms of proof of USCF membership. If you don’t have proof of USCF membership you must buy another years worth at the tournament you want to play in.

So come to play competitive chess. This a great opportunity to warm up for State.

How to enter: e-mail preferred - malcomef@mtco.com or call (309) 367-4833. I’ll return confirmation. If no confirmation by Thursday night due to some unforeseen problem then backup e-mail to wzim@sbcglobal.net He will confirm.

Info needed: Players last name, first name and middle in that order, school, grade, birth date, USCF number, rating if available, and e-mail for future events and names of persons in charge. All players must have supervision at the tournament.

Directions To Lakeview Museum in Peoria

From I-74 take University St North Exit 91 to Lake St, turn right and about 1/4 block later turn left and Museum in the back. Parking to the east of the building or along the drive.
